May 2026 ushers in a new era for women soccer players in North Nashville as Tennessee United extends its female player pathway with the addition of a WPSL II team.  The WPSL II is a developmental, amateur soccer league designed as a pathway to the top-flight Women’s Premier Soccer League. Launched to provide more competitive, structured opportunities, it serves as a developmental league for amateur players and a second division to the main WPSL.

To lead the team through its debut season, the club has tapped current TUSC ECNL RL and NPL Coach Tiffany Montero to be the WPSL II Head Coach.  Of the opportunity Montero shared, “Being part of this inaugural WPSL II team is something special – you’re not just coaching players, you’re helping build a culture, a standard, and a legacy from day one. That’s an opportunity that truly excites me.”

TUSC Executive Director, Jonathan Wayland said, “TUSC has been working toward providing further opportunities for female players 

within our club and the area.  The opportunity to start a WPSL team in a league known for showcasing high level women’s soccer is the perfect fit.  Our current girls players as well as college/adult players in the area will all benefit from it.  We can’t wait to get started with Tiffany at the helm.”

Coach Tiffany is a dedicated coach and player advocate with a background playing at the elite St. Louis club select level and collegiately. Currently coaching at both the NPL and ECNL RL levels, Tiffany combines technical knowledge and competitive experience to develop players’ skills, game IQ, and confidence. As a certified sports counselor and Director of Player Advocacy, Tiffany prioritizes athlete well‑being, mental performance, and long‑term development—helping players navigate recruitment, performance challenges, and personal growth on and off the field.

The TUSC WPSL II team will play exhibition games during May and June against WPSL teams.  Open Tryouts (not just TUSC players) will be held this Saturday, April 11th at Drakes Creek Park.  Players interested should register on PlayMetrics even if they cannot attend this tryout session.  Registration and tryout information below.
