Inclusive Soccer Opportunities

TN Stars and TUSC partnering to form TUSC Stars

A Free Soccer Program for Area Children and Youth with Special Needs

TN Stars and Tennessee United Soccer Club share an interest in providing an opportunity to play the sport of soccer for individuals who are affected by physical and developmental disabilities. TN Stars is a growing program in Hendersonville. They have been offering quality opportunities through the facilities at Merrol Hyde Magnet School for many years.
TUSC is the largest select Club in the Northern Middle Tennessee area. Tennessee United Soccer Club (TUSC), a premier club, is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages individual confidence and team success by providing players the opportunity to enhance their personal development through the game of soccer in our community.
“We are excited to partner with TUSC,” said Jim Carr, Founder and Director of TN Stars. “We feel they can enhance the program and provide valuable resources for the goal of the program. Every child has the right to enjoy the fun of playing sports, the joy of teamwork, the achievement of hitting a ball or making a goal or crossing the finish line.”
This program will be set up through TOPSoccer and is currently available in eight soccer clubs in Tennessee. US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family in an inclusive environment.
“This is an exciting opportunity for TUSC,” said Jonathan Wayland, Director of Operations of TUSC. “We are glad to be involved with what Jim and TN Stars have done and want to continue to provide opportunities for the kids and families in any way we can. We want as many kids as possible to experience soccer.”
