TENNESSEE UNITED SOCCER CLUB AND PORTLAND SOCCER CLUB EXTEND PARTNERSHIP
Tennessee United Soccer Club share an interest in seeing the sport of soccer grow in our area. We are excited to announce an extension on our TUSC North partnership.
Portland Soccer Club was established in 1996 and has seen thousands of children come through the program over the years. Somewhat naturally, as the children grow in age, the numbers tend to decrease for a variety of reasons.
TUSC was created in 2004 for the purpose of offering a stable, professional program for the development of young soccer players in our area and to provide a path and opportunity for soccer players in Sumner County and Northern Middle Tennessee to play soccer at the highest levels in the State and Country. TUSC has shown interest in raising the level of soccer participation and quality throughout Sumner County and surrounding areas. “Our partnership with Portland Soccer Club has been a positive on many levels,” said TUSC Director of Operations Jonathan Wayland. “We have gained great momentum with the U6/U8 program, Footskills and GK programs as well as Summer Camps. We want to build off that momentum and continue to provide as many kids as possible with skills and development so they can enjoy the game for a lifetime.”
Given these common goals, Portland Soccer Club and Tennessee United Soccer Club have agreed to extend their partnership and work together to ensure the quality of the experience in Portland is raised to a higher level. We will continue similar schedules and programs while enhancing the experience for the kids in Portland Soccer Club.
“We are so excited to be able to provide this opportunity to our players and coaches in Portland!”, said PSC President Daniel Greer . “We believe that this partnership can help bring the sport of soccer along by not only giving direct professional-level training to our players, but allowing our young coaches the opportunity to learn from the TUSC coaches on the field working side-by-side.”
