TUSC is thrilled to announce TUSC 1998 Boys alumnus, Reed Coffman, has been appointed TUSC College Recruiting Director and Alumni Relations Coordinator.
In this role Reed will help current players achieve their goals of college soccer by working closely with players, Girls and Boys DOCs, and their families to provide guidance and resources for the college recruitment processes, develop and maintain relationships with college coaches, and coordinate college coach seminars. He will also be helping former players stay connected to the Club through alumni events and programs.
Reed says of his new role, “I am excited for the opportunity to rejoin the club in this role as a former player! Tennessee United gave me my first opportunity in coaching many years ago and I couldn’t be more excited to give back to the club and community by helping players achieve their dreams of playing college soccer!”
After his success with the 1998 Boys team, Reed continued his soccer career at Trevecca Nazarene University. After graduation, Reed stepped into the role of Graduate Assistant Coach for the Trevecca Men’s program during the 2020-2021 season. Reed is currently a teacher at Hendersonville High School where he serves as the assistant coach to both the boys and girls programs. He currently helps in the TUSC Juniors program where his daughter plays.
TUSC Executive Director, Jonathan Wayland, said, “We could not be more thrilled to have Reed join the staff. It is very important to have former players come back and contribute to the Club. Through Reed’s role, he will not only be helping our current players reach their dreams of College soccer and beyond, he will also be a key facet in helping the Club stay more connected with our Alumni.”
Reed has already begun reaching out to our U15-U19 players through the Club’s college recruitment platform, SportsRecruits. He will be engaging more in the coming weeks, but if you have any questions on your player’s path or access to SportsRecruits, please email him at reedcoffman@tnunitedsc.com.
